Shooting Stars Nursery

Shooting Stars Nursery Provision at West Ashton C of E Primary School is lead by Mrs Kirsty Bayford, a highly experienced Nursery Lead, and overseen by the Early Years Lead, Mrs Sandra Meehan.

This provision offers the children a complete early years experience within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum framework and therefore negates the need for a transition into school.

The team caring for your children firmly believe in 'learning through play' and have developed a creative classroom environment which aims to meet each child's individual needs through carefully developed areas for children to access learning independently and engage in specific learning paths depending on age and ability.

Outside learning:
Shooting Stars provision offers a bespoke covered outdoor area, which is accessible at all times and a natural area which is used frequently for activities including den building, deconstructed role play and exploration of plants, flowers and minibeasts.

The children are encouraged to explore, create and develop physical and intellectual skills through an environment which has been specifically designed to meet their developmental needs and encourage independence. The children are also encouraged to explore the wider outdoor areas of the school.
